Data Collection/Results

My daddy took a picture of how high the soda went. We tried six different sodas. They are Diet Coke, regular Coke, Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew and Strawberry Fanta.

We measured the house with a ruler because we wanted to see how high the house was. We did that to see how high each one of the sodas went. The baseboard was 4 inches, the first row was 6 inches, the rest of the rows were 6 1/2 inches.

I put the Mentos in the soda. I backed up because I didn't want to get wet. I did the same thing with the others.

Diet Coke was first.

It went 32.75 inches high.

Dr. Pepper was second.

Dr. Pepper went 9 inches high.

Mountain Dew was next.

Mountain Dew went 0 inches.

Strawberry Fanta was next.

Strawberry Fanta was 0 inches also.

Regular Coke was next.

Regular Coke was 10 inches.

Caffeine-Free Diet Coke was last.

Caffeine-Free Diet Coke was 29.5 inches tall.

Because the camera was far away the explosion looked smaller than it really was, so these measurements were a little different.

We also measured how much soda was left in the bottle. Here are the measurements for all of the sodas:

Diet Coke had 4 inches left.

Dr. Pepper, regular Coke and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke each had 5 inches left.

Mountain Dew had 6 1/2 inches left.

Strawberry Fanta had 8 inches left.
